Ishiguro is different. I read two of his novels (in translation). He is a European author alright. You won't guess. There is nothing oriental in those two at least. And Sa - in this novel at least - write about the Orient + you can feel this is an oriental author even thru the Russian translation of her French text! Translation is good I suppose. Or at least the novel didnt lose integrity.
